Finishing Strong … Lady Wolves celebrate successful season.
Lady Wolves basketball holds annual banquet.
WHITE’S SEAFOOD—First year head Coach Amy Willie and the Lady
Wolves celebrated team and individual achievements of the past season
and determined to achieve more in the upcoming year as the Loranger girls’
basketball gathered for their spring banquet.
The Lady Wolves finished the year on a five-game
district winning streak that earned them a trip to the playoffs and a 15-13
overall record. “We took our share of setbacks along the way, but this group
of girls showed character and courage down the stretch and finished strong,” said
head coach Amy Willie. “All of these young ladies have impacted my
life this year, and I know that they will continue to work hard over
the summer to get stronger, faster and more capable of accomplishing
their goals for next year.”
Juniors Jocelyn Willie, Dana Bruno Whitney Anthony, Ashley Knippers, and Chelsey
Gerarve were recognized for their selection to the 9-3A all-district team.
Willie was voted the team’s MVP and Anthony won the rebound award notching a
total of 140 on the season.
Junior Tracie Faust received the All-Academic Lady Wolf
award for outstanding achievment in the classroom as a student-athlete, while
junior Ashley Perkins received the Team Charge Award for taking 11 charges.
Freshman Baileigh Bankston was named the Wolf Pride Award winner and fellow
freshman Sara Boyette was honored as the Most Improved team member.
Special thanks and a gift was given to sophomore Ethan
Dunn for his outstanding photography work during the season. Dunn is an
accomplished videographer and photographer and a member of the Loranger FFA
and yearbook staff.
Dr. Theriot and all the staff extend congratulations to
coach Amy and all the Lady Wolves for all their hard work and are looking
forward to next season and all that will be achieved.
