GRADUATION DAY!—Seniors Enjoy BIG Day
Loranger graduates receive over $600,000 dollars in scholarships.

on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University as 120 Loranger

their final entrance as high school students and exited
as young adults bound for college, careers and the next adventure in their lives.
Angela Marie Overmier was this year’s valedictorian
and Megan Elizabeth Lerch was the salutatorian. The remaing top ten included
Taylor Owen Boudreaux, Trent Matthew Husser, Kyle Anthony Domangue, William
Howard Gill Spiess, IV, Cody Wayne Bankston, Tiffany Lynn Thornhill, Kalyn
Elizabeth Goetz, and Meagan Nicole White.
Over $600,000 in scholarship, grants and financial awards
were earned by this class and over 30% qualified for the Louisiana TOPS
Tuition Opportunity Program for Students) program.
Overmier received both the SLU President’s Excellence
Award and the LSU Centennial Award along with the American Legion award.
Lerch was awarded the Annie Cooper Memorial Grant and the Louisiana Quarter
Horse Breeders’ Association Award. This year’s Louisiana Board of Regents
Scholars included Angela Overmier and William Spiess, IV Cody Bankston, Beth
Boudreaux, Taylor Boudreaux,

Stephanie Cheramie, Darrell Crowe, Kyle Domangue,
Kalyn Goetz, Trent Husser, Megan Lerch, Tawnya Long, Patricia Morel, Blaise
Navarro, Angela Overmier, Sarah Rogers, William Spiess, IV, and Meagan White.
Joshua Hill was awarded the Woodmen of the World Award.
The Knights of Columbus Awards went to Mary-Lauren Campo and William Spiess,
IV. Kalyn Goetz was honored with the Delta Kappa Gamma Award. The Most Outstanding
Beta Students were Angela Overmier and William Spiess, IV, while the Robert Frey
Scholarship went to William Spiess, IV. Trent Husser received the L.H.S. Alumni
Assoc. Scholarship. Kyle Domangue was awarded the Russ Ronquillo Memorial
Scholarship. The Gerald Lemoine, Sr., Memorial gift went to Jessica Huhn. Rineisha
James received the Tammy Willie Rudesill Scholarship.
The PTA introduced a new scholarship program giving
two $500 “Making a Difference” awards to Justin Long and Brittany Lefebvre.
Jacob Duhe received a full athletic scholarship to play football at Southwest
Mississippi Community College. Kristen Duracher was awarded a cheerleading
scholarship from Northwestern State University. The Literary Rally award
went to Joseph Clark, while Paul Levi was honored with a Upward Bound Scholarship.

Wartenburg were awarded U. S. Marine scholarships.
Paul Kohles received the U. S. Army National Guard Scholarship.
SLU Honor Scholarships were presented to Kalyn Goetz,
Kyle Domangue, Amanda Crigler, Cody Bankston, Taylor Boudreaux, and Heather Sampey.
The Loranger Youth Basketball Scholarship went to Tara Knight. The Louisiana Quarter
Horse Breeders’ Association Awards were given to Taylor Boudreaux and Erica
Husser and SLU Excel Scholarships went to Jessica Huhn and Mary-Lauren Campo.
Dr. Theriot and all the staff extend “congrats”
and best wishes for continued success, happiness and health for all the graduating
seniors that are THE CLASS OF 2007. Good job guys. Keep up the hard work.
